The Adelaide Hills has forged a strong reputation for many grape varieties over the last two decades, but without doubt, Sauvignon Blanc remains the shining star of the region. For vintages 2003 through to 2004, the Alta range consisted only of a single wine Sauvignon Blanc Semillon blend.
2005 saw the release of our first single varietal Alta Sauvignon Blanc, which captures the flavours of both the region and variety and has defined the path for wines that have since been added to the Alta portfolio.
The grapes for our 2009 Sauvignon Blanc were sourced from high altitude vineyards across the Adelaide Hills, from a great mix of sub climates. Individual parcels were chosen for their strong varietal intensity and regional expression. Vibrant aromatics, layered with lemongrass, Chinese quince and citrus blossom leap from the glass denouncing any confusion about the variety behind the wine. Racy acid gives structure and length to the fruit driven palate. Ripe limes, crisp pear and grapefruit dominate through the generous middle palate.
It is a wine that showcases the harmony that exists between Sauvignon Blanc and the cool climate. It will hold its own in any situation, whether it be paired with the creamiest of pastas, the spiciest of curries or experienced on its own.
Please enjoy the 2009 Alta Sauvignon Blanc, CHAPTER 7.

"This is more Sauv Blanc mainstream, with lively aromatics and lifted herbal, nutmeg and tropical fruit flavours, the palate showing both depth and texture and finishing nicely balanced and long. 12.5%. Excellent"

Agreeable. Good ripe varietal grass/melon, full flavoured but has enough acidity. Drink now.
